school wellbeing solutions

Our Story

SWBS began as a project of The Astronauts, a nonprofit in Northern California focused on music education and social-emotional programming in schools. We have since expanded to serve the strategic and cultural needs of schools and school districts, with a focus on helping improve educators’ emotional and mental well-being. Our approach includes evidence-based professional development, organizational strategy, strong research practice, and personalized assessments for individual districts. We are known for our flexibility, empathy, and ability to build genuine connections with our clients. Notably, since 2013, SWBS founder has worked closely with over 10,000 leaders and educators across the United States in supporting their own wellbeing and resilience efforts.

SWBS Key Differences:

  • Systemic Approach: SWBS addresses overall staff team dynamics, wellbeing, and leadership, rather than just focusing on student performance metrics or behaviors.

  • Staff Wellbeing Focus: Unlike many providers, SWBS emphasizes the wellbeing and job satisfaction of educators and staff, recognizing their impact on the overall school environment and student success.

  • Empowerment and Collaboration: SWBS stands out for its commitment to empowering educators through collaborative and transformative workshops, fostering self-discovery and internal team development, rather than providing prescriptive and short-lived solutions.

our mission:

School Wellbeing Solutions aims to transform educational environments by prioritizing the wellbeing and retention of staff and leaders. Our mission is to empower educational professionals with systemic approaches, positive psychology tools and authentic discussion opportunities, fostering healthier work cultures and improved outcomes for both staff and students.

our vision:

We envision a future where every school district prioritizes the wellbeing and professional fulfillment of its educators and staff. We strive to be at the forefront of educational transformation, where positive workplace cultures and resilient leadership are the norm, leading to thriving school communities and optimal student success.
